Roseanne Barr was not on the new spin-off series called “The Conners.” ABC canned Barr for a tweet and John Goodman now speaks out on her behalf.
The spin-off aired Tuesday night and hit a solid 10 million viewers, per USA Today. It was a HUGE disappointment compared to when Roseanne Barr was on the initial reboot show. (VIDEO BELOW.)
The firing of Roseanne Barr by ABC.
The Roseanne show was wildly popular and the reboot garnered an audience of almost 20 million in late March of this year. It’s safe to say that there were many viewers who were supporters of President Trump.
ABC fired the actress from her own series when she posted a tweet that said “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.” VJ were the initials for corrupt Obama-era adviser Valerie Jarrett.
Additionally, Fortune noted that, “Barr’s tweet was a reply to a tweet that accused Jarrett of helping to cover up alleged misdeeds by the Obama administration.”
ABC fired Barr within hours of the Valerie Jarrett tweet – ignoring her public apology. (VIDEO BELOW.)
John Goodman speaks out on her FIRING.
Goodman interviewed with USA Today and said, “It felt great to be back, but there’s a hollow center. I miss Rosie real bad.” So do we, John, so do we.
USA Today also reported, “Goodman says he was “stunned” but not angered by the cancellation. “I tried to pretend to be calm about it and say, ‘Well, that’s show business.’ But I kind of went into a spin for a couple of weeks.”
In closing, Faith Wire reported, “I know for a fact that she’s not a racist,” Goodman said, seemingly suggesting ABC jumped the gun when senior executives decided to fire Barr in May. “I’ll put it this way: I was surprised at the response. And that’s probably all I should say about it.” (VIDEO BELOW.)
