In a stunning revelation, Claire McCaskill’s (D-MO) husband has benefited $131,000,000 dollars from Federal subsidies since his wife became Senator.
What a scandal!
How does that happen?
Specifically, it happens when a Senator’s husband, Joseph Shepherd, invests in HUD (Housing and Urban Development) projects.
Then he then invests in USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) projects.
Moreover, when a spending bill ends up on the Senate floor for those projects. And the Senator votes “for spending bills that favor” those investments.
Apparently, that’s how you end up with ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY ONE MILLION DOLLARS in Federal subsidies!
“Shepard has invested in affordable housing projects since the 1970s and has seen his investments in those projects skyrocket over the years. The projects Shepherd invested in got $62 million worth of federal money during McCaskill’s first Senate term and $69 million in her second term.
As of 2017, Shepard serves as a limited partner—meaning he can only serve as an investor—in 164 housing projects.
McCaskill and Shepard have an estimated net worth ranging from $31 million to $37.5 million, and the Missouri Democrat’s opponents have criticized her for her lavish spending habits.”
Gee, when you are THAT outrageous even your own party starts to scratch their head about your obvious corruption! What a scandal!
