Earlier this morning, another High School, this time in Maryland, was struck by a student shooter. The only difference this time is that the Security Officer, shot back.
The Security Officer, Blaine Gaskill wounded the shooter and stopped him from continuing his rampage.
The Student’s name is Austin Wyatt Rollins, 17 of Great Mills High School. (Video Below.)
“The school resource officer — St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Deputy Blaine Gaskill — was alerted to the gunfire and confronted the gunman in less than a minute, according to Sheriff Tim Cameron.”
The brave officer, shot simultaneously and wounded the shooter. Because of Gaskill’s quick thinking, he potentially saved lives.
Rollins was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Two other students were shot. Also, as reported by NBC, “The chaos unfolded at 7:55 a.m. ET when police say Rollins walked into the 1,600-student school and fired a round from a Glock semiautomatic handgun at a 16-year-old female student. A 14-year-old male was also struck.”
From NBC Wasington, Channel 4, “This morning, our family was devastated to learn that our beautiful Jaelynn was one of the victims in a school shooting at her high school, Great Mills,” read a family statement provided by Willey’s uncle. The 14-year-old male victim is in good condition, according to the MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital. Rollins has died, Sheriff Tim Cameron said.”
There may have been a prior relationship between Jaelynn and the armed student, Rollins.
The Resource officer, is not only a Deputy in the Sheriff’s Department but also a SWAT Team member. Also, with one of the best programs to take care of situations like this. Deputy Blaine Gaskill was on the scene within one minute. And clearly took the right kind of action. A true Hero who probably saved other lives.

Deputy Blaine Gaskill stopped the gunman at Great Mills High School.
NBC reported, “The White House this month said it will propose funding firearms training for school personnel and bolster firearm background checks, but steered clear of a previous idea floated by President Donald Trump to raise the minimum legal age to buy semiautomatic weapons from 18 to 21.
Additionally, the State of Maryland prohibits anyone under the age of 21 from having certain firearms, such as handguns or assault weapons.”
In closing, please drop a comment to let us know if you think this Maryland city handled the school shooting the way it should have been. A good guy with a gun. Instead of how Sheriff Israel from the Florida, Parkland High School handled it. Please leave a comment for Jaelyn Willey and prayers, if you feel so moved. Jaelyn is still in critical condition.
