The Schumer Shutdown appears to be coming to a close. That’s at least what Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer just announced.
According to Bloomberg, Schumer claims that he and Mitch McConnell reached an agreement on a short-term spending bill. The vote is set to take place shortly, and it is expected there will be enough votes to pass the short-term budget.
Per Bloomberg, Chuck Schumer is quoted as saying:
“We will vote today to reopen the government. We expect that a bipartisan bill on DACA will receive fair consideration and an up or down vote on the floor.”
This is good news for America, as Congress appears to be motivated to work with each other. But don’t hold your breath as tensions are likely still very high between the two parties.
