Yesterday, President Trump suddenly emerged from the White House and was on his way to board Marine One when reporters stopped him! They wanted to know where he was going! He told them he was going to Walter Reed to visit the wounded warriors. This is how President Trump responded:
“We’re just going to wish them a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year. We love those people.”
While at Walter Reed, “one of the veterans he met with was retired U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. John Peck, and his wife Jessica. During the visit, Sgt. Peck showed the president the Trump sticker adorning the back of his wheelchair” as reported by Fox News. In 2010, John became a quadruple amputee after stepping on an explosive device as reported by ABC. John has since underwent a double arm transplant. And recovered nicely.
These brave men and women who have fought for our Freedom are in the hands of the best of the best at Walter Reed. President Trump said of our military heroes who give it there ALL that they are “some of the bravest people anywhere in the world.”
While at the Military hospital visiting the wounded soldiers. President Trump also did something super amazing! And it is a FIRST time for him to give this special honor. He awarded the Purple Heart to “1st Lt. Victor Prato of the 127th Airborne Engineer Battalion, who was injured last month while deployed in Afghanistan” per PBS. Please watch the video below.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders tweeted this photograph of the President presenting this wounded warrior the Purple Heart. She said,
“One of the most powerful moments of my life watching @POTUS give the Purple Heart to this American Hero. Amazed by the strength and resilience of the men and women in our Armed Forces.”

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center described as the “best of the best”. This photo below is Walter Reed. He was a military physician who discovered that yellow fever was contracted through mosquito. And whose namesake the military hospital is named after where our Heroes are sent to mend.
Both of the these wounded warriors are in excellent hands. “The president is expected to return to the facility in the new year to undergo a physical” per The Associated Press.
If someone you know or one of your family members has received a Purple Heart please let us know the story below in comments. We would love to hear it. And to ALL of our military veterans and active duty…thank you for your service.
