On Tuesday, Rep. Trey Gowdy responded to Democratic Women’s Working Group after they demanded he look into alleged sexual misconduct by President Trump. Gowdy was targeted by the group since he is chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
According to The Washington Examiner, Gowdy declined the request and said the Oversight Committee will NOT investigate such claims. His explanation can be seen below.
Gowdy did say, however, that he would refer the group’s letter to the Justice Department since the allegations constitute crimes, as is proper procedure. But warned the group in his response that the DOJ doesn’t have jurisdiction over state law violations, which is what the women’s allegations pertain to, except for one incident that was alleged to take place aboard an airplane in the 1970s. Gowdy said he sent the letter from the women group to the DOJ, despite knowing nothing will likely come out of it.
Per The Examiner, Gowdy wrote:
“This Committee, nor any other Committee of Congress, does not, and cannot, prosecute crimes. This is true for many reasons but especially true in crimes of this serious nature. Those alleging sexual assault or criminal sexual conduct deserve to be interviewed by law enforcement professionals, and charging decisions should be made by prosecutors based on the quantum and quality of the admissible and provable evidence.”
Accusations against President Trump were pretty much non-existent until he decided to run against Hillary Clinton and the Democrat Party. More than a dozen women have since come out to accuse Trump of sexual misconduct, with the help of Anti-Trump, Liberal Gloria Allred representing them.

Trump has denied claims of sexual misconduct ever since accusers started coming out of the woodwork. According to The Examiner, the president on Tuesday said his accusers were fabricating stories.
Could all of this just be another planned attack by the left, since the Russia narrative is failing? It’s definitely a possibility, but what do you think? Comment your thoughts below and SHARE the news!
