Assange & Trump Jr. Respond to Whirlwind of Reports of Their Communications, Trump Jr. Releases Documents

Reports are swirling that Donald Trump, Jr. communicated with WikiLeaks weeks before Donald Trump’s 2016 victory over Hillary Clinton. The Atlantic reportedly received transcripts of a conversations between WikiLeaks and Trump Jr. that allegedly occurred in the months before the election. Trump Jr. appeared to ignore most messages from WikiLeaks, yet did respond to a few of them, according to The Atlantic.

The messages were turned over to Congress as part of Russia meddling investigations in President Trump’s campaign per the report. WikiLeaks Founder, Julian Assange and Trump Jr. both immediately responded to the news after it broke.

Julian Assange said, he “cannot confirm the alleged DM’s from Donald Trump Jr. to WikiLeaks. WikiLeaks does not keep such records and the Atlantic’s presentation is edited and clearly does not have the full context.”  Here is his full response:

Both Assange and Trump Jr. wasted no time setting the record straight now that all of the documents leaked to the press before the investigation has concluded. The documents, like everything else brought forth so far, show a whole bunch of nothing, but Trump Jr. and the Trump Campaign will likely face heat about it in coming days, despite transparency on the matter.
