Donna Brazile has opened up a can of worms after releasing early copies and excerpts of her new book to Politico and The Washington Post. On Thursday, Brazile shocked America when Politico revealed how Brazile believes the Clinton campaign rigged the primary against Bernie Sanders through a joint fundraising agreement between the DNC and Clinton Camp prior to the primary contest.
Then on Saturday Brazile made jaws drop even more when The Washington Post revealed that Brazile considered replacing Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine on the ticket with Joe Biden as the Nominee and New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker as his running mate a result of the Clinton Campaign being an often-spiritless operation.
Brazile complained that the campaign failed to produce the kind of enthusiasm needed to propel the former Hillary to victory. Brazile also wrote that Clinton was already “wobbly on her feet” and had a “rattled cough,” according to Washington Post’s review. Hillary fainting at the 9/11 event in New York as shown below is what almost was the final straw for Brazile.
Per The Washington Post, Brazile thought at the time Biden and Booker had the best potential to win over working-class voters and beat Republican nominee Donald J. Trump and running mate Mike Pence.
But she ultimately decided against it, and wrote:
“I thought of Hillary, and all the women in the country who were so proud of and excited about her. I could not do this to them.”
According to FOX News, Clinton’s former campaign team immediately responded by posting an open letter on the blogging platform Medium and said:
“We were shocked to learn the news that Donna Brazile actively considered overturning the will of the Democratic voters by attempting to replace Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine as the Democratic Presidential and Vice Presidential nominees. It is particularly troubling and puzzling that she would seemingly buy into false Russian-fueled propaganda, spread by both the Russians and our opponent, about our candidate’s health.”
Donna Brazile’s book“Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House” is due for release on November 7.
