Jimmy Kimmel was the host of this year’s Oscars, which suffered a beating in ratings…so bad it was the lowest ratings for the Oscars ever.
President Donald J. Trump was quick to call out the failure on Twitter. And what he said appears to have irked Kimmel so bad that he made it a point to address Trump’s tweet on his show. (See Below)
On Tuesday, Trump said, “Lowest rated Oscars in HISTORY. Problem is, we don’t have Stars anymore – except your President (just kidding, of course)!”

Kimmel was not amused by Trump’s humor, and tried to save face on his Tuesday night program. He started off by referring to Trump’s tweet and said, “Thanks, lowest rated President in HISTORY.” He blamed Netflix for the Oscars’ epic failure when he said:
“The truth is, every year since Netflix happened, the ratings are down for every big TV show: the Super Bowl, the Grammys, the Emmys, the Golden Globes.”
Kimmel told his audience he felt like he needed to address Trump’s tweet since he was the host of the awards ceremony. (Video Below)
Kimmel Blames Netflix For Oscars’ Epic Failure
Breitbart later proved both statements by Kimmel as false.
In their report, which can be seen HERE, Breitbart showed Trump is not the lowest rated President ever and the Oscars actually had their second lowest rating in history before Netflix was even around. They even saw some steady incline in ratings after Netflix entered the market year after year.
As per Breitbart:
Before Sunday night’s Kimmel crater, the previous record low was all the way back in 2008, a few years before Netflix’s streaming service really took off. Moreover, Oscar ratings actually increased between 2013 to 2014, from 40.3 million viewers to 43.7 million viewers. So to blame Netflix for your failure is simply anti-science.
Kimmel likely said his comments out of spite to help save the embarrassment he was suffering inside. And he is hoping his audience believes what he is spoon-feeding them and doesn’t look up the real facts.
When will it ever occur to celebrities that the real reason behind the ratings decline of awards shows could be due to the simple fact that people don’t want to watch politically saturated events that they have become?
Afterall, every awards show since Trump has become President ends up being a Trump-bash fest, where celebrities can be seen making disgraceful attacks against our leader.
Until Hollywood can burst out of their bubble, they will probably never figure it out.
