Christopher Steele, the infamous writer of the debunked dossier and former spy has been brought to the front of the class to put on the “dunce cap”!
Republican Senators, Grassley (IA) and Graham (SC), who both sit on the Congressional Judiciary committee, have requested a “congressional criminal” referral from the Justice Department. The first since the Russia collusion investigation began.
Dossier author Christopher Steel may be facing up to FIVE YEARS in prison if charges are brought against him.
Nicholas Fandos of the New York Times and Matthew Rosenberg of the The Star reported, “Grassley’s decision to recommend criminal charges appeared likely to be based on reports of Steele’s meetings with the FBI, which were provided to the committee by the Justice Department in recent weeks.”
The two authors were allegedly able to obtain a copy of the cover letter Grassley and Graham sent the Justice Department. A cover letter which stated, in part:
“Based on the information contained therein, we are respectfully referring Mr. Steele to you for investigation of potential violations of 18 U.S.C. § 1001, for statements the Committee has reason to believe Mr. Steele made regarding his distribution of information contained.”
What the 18 U.S.C. § 1001 states:
h/t The Star. Both Senator’s have fought for evidence to show that the dossier was used for the FISA warrant to have the Trump campaign monitored. And also, that the dossier may have been the basis for the Special Counsel Russia collusion investigation into the Trump campaign. If a charge is filed you can expect more to go down with this sinking ship. And up Schiff’s creek, so to speak.
Dossier author swimming up same creek (against the current) as Adam Schiff.
Representative Adam Schiff has been identified as one of the main leakers of all things “Russia Russia Russia” to the media. And he has been instrumental on CNN cameos saying there is evidence, yet he never delivers.
With this new recommendation for Steele to be charged, Schiff’s narrative has been destroyed. To read more about Schiff’s leaks within the hallowed halls of Congress, click HERE.
