Donald Trump and Ted Cruz were recently spotted having a little bit of fun at Le Bilboquet restaurant in Dallas, Texas.
They were seen posing with a giant cookie that had what appeared to be a picture made with frosting of former President Barack Obama. It looked semi-identical to Obama’s “Hope” posters used in his Presidential campaign.
Ted Cruz smiled while standing next to Trump Jr., who was holding the cookie and making a funny face in one picture. And Trump Jr. posed in another photo alone with the cookie while making a different funny face. It was all fun and games but, of course, an issue had to be made out of it. Here are the pictures we are referring to:
According to TMZ, the photos drew backlash as the restaurant owner, Stephan Courseau, and others in the area were “pissed off” by the photos, per TMZ.
The owner said calls poured in by his regulars immediately after the photo-op went viral, questioning him on how he could allow such a disgusting thing to happen in his eatery.
Corseau said he was not present at the time and would have never allowed the cookie to be displayed if he was present because it is a form of racism. Corseau gives customers every right to be angry, as he was obviously appalled by it as well.
TMZ’s report said critics of the cookie claim it looks like a “racist minstrel show on a cake of Obama.”
How a picture of Obama on a cookie is racist is beyond us. But our guess is it’s only considered “racist” because it involved the Republican Party and/or one of the Trumps.
The Trumps are often times called racist by the left, despite their long history of working with and supporting all ethnicities. Such attacks have never panned out, and likely won’t this time either.
