Women’s Rights Activist, Linda Sarsour, Accused of Enabling Sexual Misconduct

Political activist Linda Sarsour, has been accused of enabling sexual misconduct of a woman who worked for the feminist activist. The accuser claims she was harassed and assaulted while working for Sarsour at the Arab American Association of New York for over a year, according to a report by The Daily Caller.

The accuser, Asmi Fathelbab, claims a man named Majed Seif, who lived in the same apartment building, stalked and often assaulted her. Regarding her assaulter, Fathelbab said:

“He would sneak up on me during times when no one was around, he would touch me, you could hear me scream at the top of my lungs. He would pin me against the wall and rub his crotch on me.”

Fathelbab said Saraour knew of the incidents of sexual misconduct but never did anything about it, and instead attacked the woman for reporting the allegations. As stated in The Daily Mail’s report:

Allegations of groping and unwanted touching were allegedly brought to Sarsour during her time as executive director of the Arab American Association. In response, Sarsour, a self-proclaimed champion of women, attacked the woman bringing the allegations, often threatening and body-shaming her, these sources alleged. The most serious allegations were dismissed, Asmi Fathelbab, the alleged victim told The Daily Caller, because the accused was a “good Muslim” who was “always at the Mosque.”

Fathelbab said Sarsour is no champion of women, a title she earned by the left after organizing The Women’s March after President Trump was elected.

She said the environment that Sarsour oversaw was “abusive towards women” and wants the world to know Sarsour is actually the complete opposite as she is often portrayed. And when trying to report the assaults, Sarsaour called her a “liar” because assaults she described to Sarsour “didn’t happen to women who looked like me.”

On one occasion, while reporting an incident, Fathelbab was chastised for interrupting one of Sarsour’s TV interviews. She would also be written up and threatened with legal damage by Sarsour for continually making such claims and defended the assaulter. And there were at least two witnesses who were also interviewed by The Daily Mail who can vouch for Fathelbab’s claims.

After it was apparant Sarsour wouldn’t do anything about the sexual misconduct, Fathelbab went above her to the president of the board of directors, Ahmed Jaber. And he wouldn’t do anything about it either. Fathelbab said:

“Jaber told me my stalker was a ‘God-fearing man’ who was ‘always at the Mosque,’ so he wouldn’t do something like that. He wanted to make it loud and clear this guy was a good Muslim and I was a bad Muslim for “complaining.”

And in regards to Sarsour’s title as “Champion of Women,” Fathelbab said:

“Just wait until more people start to talk. Sarsour is no champion of women. She is an abuser of them.”
