While D.C. is on Thanksgiving break, the great State of Alaska was busy getting the goods on how their Senator Lisa Murkowski (AK-R) would vote on Health Care. Why is Lisa’s vote so important? Because she has a notorious voting record of being moderate.
As reported by The Hill she is “a key moderate swing vote.” And “Murkowski voted against those earlier (Health Care) bills. She was one of three GOP senators to help defeat a “skinny repeal” bill in July, which had the central component of repealing the mandate.” Click here to read more about the GOP Senators who did not vote to pass the Health Care Bill earlier this year.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner whose motto is The Voice Of Interior Alaska ran a piece written by Senator Lisa Murkowski. The following are excerpts from her editorial. To read the article in full click here.
“Repealing the individual mandate simply restores to people the freedom to choose.”
“While I support repealing the individual mandate, I strongly support enacting the bipartisan compromise Alexander/Murray legislation into law as fast as possible to stabilize our markets, provide more control to states and more choices to individuals.”
If you are glad to hear that a crucial GOP swing vote for the Health Care bill has decided to vote in line with the American people and the Trump administration on repealing the Obama care mandate then please leave us a shout out in the comments section below!
