Country music star Neal McCoy is tired of seeing and hearing about disgraceful NFL National Anthem protests that carried on through week #10 despite it being Veterans Day weekend.
McCoy strongly disagrees with the concept of players kneeling for the National Anthem as a way to protest social injustice and feels there is a better way to make their point. He decided to take a stand against such protests by writing a song about them, which was recently released and is called “Take a Knee…My A**!” He co-wrote the song with a friend, as reported by the Washington Examiner. (Video Below)
McCoy has high respect for our military and cites it as a big reason why we should always stand for the National Anthem. To date, McCoy has performed 15 times for our troops in Iraq and Pakistan, per Town Tall. He also recently performed at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, hours before the horrific Las Vegas Massacre occured, as shown below.
When pressed about what motivated him to write the song, McCoy stated to the Washington Examiner:
“This is a guy that believes in our country, that does not like people kneeling, not standing with their hands over their hearts, for the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. That’s what I’m about…I am all about protesting, but I just thought it was the wrong time, wrong place kind of thing, at least from my taste.“
