At the flip of a switch, a new poll suggests the race for Alabama’s Senate seat has shifted dramatically.
According to a new poll released by The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) and reported by Politico, GOP nominee Roy Moore is polling 12 points behind his Democratic opponent Doug Jones 51 to 39, in the wake of allegations by 5 women who claimed he initiated sexual encounters with them while they were minors.
His favorability has also dropped significantly 49% to 35% according to the poll. These double-digit margin losses help explain why both the RNC and NRSC have pulled out of funding Moore.
Polls last week showed Moore up over his opponent but that all changed following Washington Post’s story. We have yet to see how Moore will react to the polling news on top of losing key funding. We will keep you updated.
