Suspect ID’d, President Trump Reacts to Terrorist Attack

President Trump responded to the latest terror attack in Manhattan. The attack left at least 8 people dead after a man in a rented flatbed pickup on Tuesday drove down a busy bicycle path near the World Trade Center, killing eight people and injuring about a dozen others. The suspect was identified as Sayfullo Saipov, an Uzbekistan native from Florida.

When initially hearing the news President Trump responded by saying, “In NYC, looks like another attack by a very sick and deranged person. Law enforcement is following this closely. NOT IN THE U.S.A.!”

Then moments later Trump stated, “My thoughts, condolences and prayers to the victims and families of the New York City terrorist attack. God and your country are with you!”

A law enforcement official says that witnesses told police the driver shouted “Allah’ Akbar, ” Arabic for God is great, when he exited the truck after plowing into dozens of people. Officials later determined it to be an act of terrorism.
