Paul Manafort was spotted leaving his Alexandria, Virginia home to surrender to federal authorities.
It’s been reported that Paul Manafort, President Trump’s former campaign manager and his business partner, are turning themselves in to federal authorities as part of Robert Mueller’s investigation. It was rumored all weekend that Mueller filed his first charges in his investigation into whether or not the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.
According to the New York Times, charges against Manafort and his former business partner Rick Gates are still not clear.
Rick Gates has been a business associate of Manafort for several years. His name appears on documents connected to companies created by Manafort in Cyprus. Gates apparently receives payments from politicians and businesses in Eastern Europe, per The New York Times.
It is now clear that reports that surfaced by CNN on Friday are, in fact, true regarding Mueller filing charges. This means that someone from Mueller’s team violated the law by leaking information about the investigation to the media, as Trey Gowdy discussed in a recent interview that can be seen Here.
We will report more on this as details comes out.
