Robert Mueller, was placed as Special Counsel to investigate the “Russian Collusion of the Trump Administration” as an Independent counsel. Bob Mueller was the former head of the FBI, prior to his close friend, James Comey having taken over the vacancy in 2013 as FBI Director. Since Mueller was FBI Director during the time of Uranium One deal, multiple sources are asking him to resign his position as ”Special Counsel investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections.”
Fox News reports the reason why: “Hill investigators also are looking into a Russian firm’s uranium deal that was approved by the Obama administration in 2010 despite reports that the FBI – then led by Mueller – had evidence of bribery involving a subsidiary of that firm. Critics question whether Mueller’s own ties to the bureau as well as fired FBI director James Comey now render him compromised as he investigates allegations of Russian meddling and collusion with Trump officials in the 2016 race. “The federal code could not be clearer – Mueller is compromised by his apparent conflict of interest in being close with James Comey,” Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., who first called for Mueller to step down over the summer, said in a statement to Fox News on Friday. “The appearance of a conflict is enough to put Mueller in violation of the code. … All of the revelations in recent weeks make the case stronger.”
Mueller is getting slammed by multiple pundits to resign because Mueller was then involved in the Uranium One deal. Among them, Chris Christie (NJ Gov/R), who said: “If the facts that you just laid out are true, then somebody with Bob Mueller’s integrity will step aside and should — if in fact those facts, as you laid them out, are true,” Christie said on “Fox & Friends,” in response to various conflict-of-interest allegations.”
Another pundit calling for Mueller to step down is Kimberly Strassel , pundit for the Wall Street Journal and their Editorial Board has “… cited the dossier development in calling for Mueller’s resignation on Thursday, saying the “troubling question is whether the FBI played a role” in aiding a “Russian disinformation campaign.”
Senator Ron Johnson (WI-R) has also called for Mueller’s resignation. He “…said Friday afternoon that Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russian influence in the 2016 presidential campaign, should step down. “He should resign,” said Johnson, who is chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. “I take the position that we shouldn’t have a special counsel at this time. We should let the (congressional) committees do their work.” per The Journal Times.
Sean Hannity, news pundit on Fox News has also called for Mueller’s resignation. Hannity is citing “conflicts of interest” during the time the Uranium One deal was approved. Hannity said Mueller, who was FBI director at the time, led a bureau that “clearly had the information” that called into question whether illicit or unethical activity was involved in the arrangement. Hannity said that there was evidence of “corruption and bribery” involved in the deal, which allowed Russian interests to take ownership of 20 percent of American uranium. He said Mueller “should resign immediately tonight” because his role as FBI director presents a “conflict of interest” in his probe, which is looking into collusion between American actors and Russia.”
The list dates back to August, the others calling for his resignation are Rep. Trent Franks (AZ-R), a Republican who sits on the House Judiciary Committee, and House Freedom Caucus members. Interestingly, yesterday, Dana Boente, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, has resigned his position and he was an Obama era appointment. He also serves as acting assistant attorney general for the National Security Division of the DOJ. Draining the swamp – one creature at a time. Per Newsweek : “With the resignation of Dana Boente on Friday as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, President Donald Trump has an opportunity to replace another Obama-era holdover in the Department of Justice line of succession. If Trump demands that the department fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and if enough officials resign or get fired rather than carry out his order, the decision to do so could fall to Boente’s successor.”
Break out the popcorn everyone…this is going to be interesting to see how this turns out. With a media black out on the Uranium One deal on most of the mainstream media channels…the reality of the situation is looking bleak for the former Obama holdovers who had knowledge of selling out our uranium to the Russians. Greed is a powerful emotion and leaving the American people at risk by selling our Uranium rights to the Russians so they can assist Iran in developing weapons of mass destruction puts our National Security at risk.
