It appears Colin Kaepernick is taking the NFL to court!
Here is the statement released by Colin Kaepernick’s newly hired lawyer Mark Geragos and obtained by ABC News:
“We can confirm that this morning we filed a grievance under the CBA on behalf of Colin Kaepernick. This was done only after pursuing ever possible avenue with all NFL teams and their executives.”
The statement goes on to say:
The NFL and Team owners “colluded to deprive Mr. Kaepernick of employment rights in retaliation for Mr. Kaepernick’s leadership and advocacy for equality and social justice.”
So basically, Colin Kaepernick thinks he is being punished for his peaceful protests. And he is using the well-known attorney Mark Geragos instead of going through the NFL Players Association. Geragos has been used on many high-profile cases, mainly by celebrities.
This is very interesting, considering several players currently are protesting the National Anthem the same way Kaepernick did and still have their jobs. It will be a tough case to prove because of that, but time will tell what will happen.
Could it be that Kaepernick doesn’t have a job and got cut because he’s not good enough? Tomi Lahren thinks so.
