Husband of Family Rescued from Haqqani Network Reveals Horrifying Details to the Press

Canadian ex-hostage Joshua Boyle recently opened up about his family’s frightening and tragic experience while held hostage in Afghanistan for 5 years by the Haqqani network. The family safely landed in Canada late Friday night.

Boyle, who is the husband of American Caitlan Coleman, revealed that his wife was pregnant with their 4th child at the time of their abduction. He sadly revealed that his infant daughter was killed by the network and his wife was also raped, according to FOX News.

Here is a statement made by Boyle regarding the ordeal:

Boyle said in the interview:

“The stupidity and evil of the Haqqani network’s kidnapping of a pilgrim and his heavily pregnant wife engaged in helping ordinary villagers in Taliban-controlled regions of Afghanistan was eclipsed only by the stupidity and evil of authorizing the murder of my infant daughter.”

President Donald J. Trump hinted at the rescue of the family at a recent rally in Pennsylvania. He said this at the rally just one day before the rescue was announced:

“America is being respected again. Something happened today where a country that totally disrespected us called with some very, very important news. And one of my generals came in, they said, you know, I have to tell you, a year ago they would have never done that. It was a great sign of respect. You’ll probably be hearing about it over the next few days.”

Here he is making the official announcement:

The couple was rescued the same day Trump hinted at it, and it was five years after they had been captured by the extremist network who is linked to the Taliban. They were in Afghanistan for a backpacking trip.
