Democratic Mayor of Dr. Seuss’ Hometown Does Something UNPREDICTABLE for Melania After Librarian’s Appalling Move

I think we have all heard about the Cambridge Librarian, Liz Phipps Soeiro,  who took it upon herself to reject the generous offer of Dr. Seuss books for an elementary school from our well-intentioned FLOTUS, Melania Trump. The Librarian wrote a scathing letter to the First Lady and detailed out why she was rejecting the donation of Dr. Seuss books. Mainly, because Soeiro, believed Dr. Seuss books to be “racist propaganda”. The letter is very long and very much filled with identity politics perspective and a smattering of smear tactics on a deceased icon’s character. If you are remotely interested in reading the long-winded social justice warrior-turned-Libararian piece… click here.

This is a copy of the letter The First Lady of The United States sent with her generous donation:

In response to the ungracious performance of this Librarian..the Mayor of the City Dr. Suess is from, Springfield, MA responded in a great way, according to the Miami Herald :

“Mayor Domenic Sarno called the comments of Cambridge Public Schools librarian Liz Phipps Soeiro “political correctness at its worst.”

Dr. Seuss, whose real name is Theodor Geisel, was born and raised in Springfield. A Dr. Seuss museum opened in the city earlier this year and the Democratic mayor notes that attendance has been “through the roof.”

He said if Cambridge doesn’t want the books, Springfield will take them.”

I’ts great to see a Dem Mayor with some sense step up to the plate and defend our First Lady and Dr. Seuss. With even the left getting tired of the hard left wingers antics, it seems that the left is imploding.

  1. I like “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” when my kids were little, plus a host of others. Now I Like “You’re Only Old Once.” since I’ve reached that age. 🙂

  2. Green Eggs and Ham is my favorite!

  3. Love Green Eggs and Ham. When I taught K and First grades we always celebrated Dr. Seuss Birthday with a Green Eggs and Ham breakfast. When I began teaching older children, they remembered this and would as me to do it with them again. Dr. Seuss has always been a favorite of mine and my children. Now I enjoy his books with my grandchildren.

  4. Green eggs and ham!!

  5. Horton Hatches the egg

The 7 Lady Godivas (definitely not a kids book), and Horton Hatches a Who.

Proud of this mayor! We need to be defending America not eking it out of existence

  8. Thank you mayor Sarno.. As a Springfield resident I am pleased that he behaved and responded in a manner that represents “old” Democratic behaviors. Her behavior was disgraceful on a human level and shows her bias. To bring her beliefs to the nation is frightening as it shows she will do anything to get her views across even if it means teaching our young hate of those not of the same belief. I am glad that he would not stand for such actions from those in the position of molding our children. Sometimes its not a party issue but a human issue to protect all citizens from blatant racism.
