Last night at a rally in Alabama, President Donald Trump took a stand against NFL players who refuse to stand for the National Anthem. The crowd went wild when Trump said “Get that son of a b*^!# off the field,” in reference to players who disrespect our country while on the field by taking a kneel when the Star Spangled Banner plays.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell came out to defend against President Trump’s statement. Goodell said the President showed a “lack of respect” for the league and its players. “The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture,” Goodell said in the statement. “There is no better example than the amazing response from our clubs and players to the terrible natural disasters we’ve experienced over the last month. Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities.” (Source: NFL Communications)
Goodell finally showed his true colors on the issue of players kneeling on the field. He has faced criticism for staying mum on the matter, and it appears he would rather enable the protesters than trying to take a stand for our country and our real heroes.
After Goodell’s comments, you have to think about what’s really more divisive:
A President that’s standing up for Patriotic values that make America great?
The head of the NFL being passive and not saying or doing anything to prevent athletes from using national air time and fame to corrupt our youth into thinking their actions are normal?
