Many celebrities, politicians, pundits and athletes would rather use their fame and air time to make some kind of political statement, rather than actually doing something productive to help fix any give problem.
J.J. Watt, the defensive end of the Houston Texans definitely does not fit the mold of such people. He may look like a tough guy on the outside but deep down he has a BIG heart…and what he just did for Hurricane Harvey victims proves it!
Here is a tweet from earlier this month showing Watt help in Harvey relief efforts:

Countless incredible volunteers.

According to an ARTICLE by SI:
The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year launched a fund on YouCaring.com to raise money for victims of Hurricane Harvey on Aug. 26 with an initial goal of $200,000. At the time, that seemed like a sizable yet attainable goal. In hindsight, perhaps Watt (and the rest of us) underestimated humanity’s goodwill and willingness to help others in need.
Watt recently closed the fundraiser after raising an astonishing $37,097,298, which is more than 185 times his initial goal. More than 200,000 people donated, meaning Watt got as many donors as he expected dollars.
That’s right! J.J. Watt selflessly raised over $37 million for victims of Hurricane Harvey! It’s no wonder why he has so much respect all across the state of Texas. That is truly just as large of a feat as being the 3-time Defensive Player of the Year!
